Question 296 Price

I got an e-mail from Sporty's today with a 1495 price for a Garmin 296. By contrast, John Start was $200 higher. Wonder if anyone has seen a better price anywhere?

Thanks

Default Same price

That's the same $$ as PilotMall.com, Spruce, Gulf Coast, and a couple others. Hopefully it'll keep coming down - sure would be nice to have!!

Default Falling prices on electronic gear generally indicates. . .

. . .a new replacement product is coming out soon. The price decrease clears out the supply chain right before the new product announcement. Now the question is: what could be about to be announced? What could it be? Anyone have a guess?

Lightbulb Or?

Could the price decrease not simply be to close the gap with competitors like Lowrance and AvMap? The new price matches exactly with the new AvMap EKP IV and that unit is somewhat comparable.
