You have to change the pushrods, pushrod tubes and attach hardware, oil return lines, inter cylinder baffles, the Vans angle valve and parallel valve baffle kits are different. The angle valve cylinder configuration has a totally different oil sump (forward facing) and tuned length intake pipes. But these cylinders can be run with a parallel valve sump set up. The pistons used are a totally different design, angle valve engines use piston squirts and have the timing set to 20 instead of 25 degrees. Angle valve engines also use a tongue and grove rod which is stronger and heaver; it uses a narrower bearing and a special stretch rod bolt. The crankshaft pins are narrower for a bigger radius to make the crank stronger and to fit these rods. Most angle valve engines have a damper crank and use a different prop than a parallel valve. The exhaust ports studs are rotated 90 degrees the port itself is about ?? further outboard. The engine will be about ?? wider. The fuel injection throttle body is set to a higher flow rate. The fuel injection lines are longer. It can be done but as you can see it?s not a simple swap and it tends to be expensive.
