Default Quetionable engine parts - 74293

I bought a used engine a few years back. A Lycoming O-320-A2B. I was told it came from a defunct A&P school. The crankshaft was bad - got another. The accessory case has the number 74293 stamped on it. most of the information I have found (and Lycoming has been no help) says that this is supposed to be for an IO-360 engine. Other info I've seen list this as an acceptable case for 290, 320 & 360 engines.

Anyone out there know whether I can use this case or not for my O-320-A2B?

Thanks,

Robert

AS long as the mounting holes match up to the crankcase and it has two mag drive holes, it will work regardless of Part number. It may not have all the drive bosses you want or it may have more bosses machined then what the 320-A2B had, but it will work either way, regardless.
Good Luck,
Mahlon

Awesome, thanks. Yes, it has to mag holes and it bolts up just fine to the crankcase cause it was unbolted from it.

As always, you VAF guys ROCK!
