Default Oshkosh RV Social 2014

2014 Oshkosh RV Social

Monday July 28th

1366 WEST WAUKAU AVENUE

Starts When The Airshow Ends

(Ends When The Kegs Run Dry)

Ok gang, it's on! Come join the Beer Fairy at OSH, on Monday, after the airshow, for one night of libation, tall tales, and outright lies.

The nice folks at NationAir Insurance (http://lightaircraft.nationair.com/) have again offered their terrific backyard location. Please look for the NationAir staffers and thank them in some appropriate way. They'll be at 1366 Waukau all week with cool drinks and shade for weary aviators.

Here's the map. Easy walk from anywhere. It is near the bus center, and parking if you have a car. No parking at the house...don't even think about it (sorry!).

The kegs ran dry way too early last year. It won't happen this year. And we won't bother with a "how many beers" poll, as clearly ya'll lie about how much you drink.

Everyone seemed to like the choices:

New Glarus Spotted Cow (what would Oshkosh be without Spotted Cow?)
Bell's Two-Hearted Ale (for the hop lovers)
Lakefront Fixed Gear (yep, that's the name, a red ale with a kick)

The Beer Fairy's kissing booth business just isn't working out as planned. She will need a little help to pull this off. Sponsors so far include Kitplanes, Barrett Precision, JD Air, Perry Hill Auto, GRT, TruTrak, Delta Pop Aviation, EXP Aircraft Services, and SteinAir, but we need maybe one more or the old lady will have to go another year without new underpants. Sponsor shares are cheap; drop an email or PM to me and I'll get it to the Fairy. This is a non-profit; anything unspent will be returned.

Serious note..this is an RV owner/builder function. Any a$$hole we catch inviting his whole campground zone will be spotlighted, stripped naked, smeared with proseal, and rolled in tall grass. Likewise for those with bad manners. Think of it as VAF Rules with beer....keep it RV, and keep it nice.

That's it. We had a VERY good time last year, and it should be even better for 2014. Pray for good weather. See you there!

Default Awesome.

Last year was great, and I'm sure this year will be even better. It's obvious the fairy has the beer situation under control, but can/should people contribute in the way of snacks/potluck food items for people to graze on?

Like last year, Stein will be bringing a lot of munchies. If you also wish to toss a bag of potato chips to the lions, I am sure they will be eaten. However, a big goal here is keeping things simple. We're not getting into food service, or creating setup/clean up issues. If it needs a plate, a fork, or a serving line, forget it. The Beer Fairy ain't Martha Stewart.

Hungry folks should grab a sandwich on the way to the party. The Sacred Heart brat stand is just across the street, and last year the house next door was selling food and soft drinks.

Dan, I don't want to get Prosealed but I am bringing a non-RV (non-Pilot) as a newbe to Oshkosh. He is interested in flying and I think we may be able to turn him into a RV pilot after he experiances flying to the show and the entire show experiance. I would like him to experiance "this part of the show" as well. Please Please Please?
