Default AOPA Fly-In at San Marcos Municipal Airport, Texas (HYI)

Today three os us intrepid RV types flew into San Marcus, TX to attend the AOPA Town Hall fly-in.

If you live close to one of these events, I suggest you try and attend.

AOPA is doing their best to reach out to their members.

Just keep in mind that they are new at putting on these types of parties and the logistics are a bit of a struggle for them but I'm sure they will improve over time.

I had to drive in due to WX. I also thought the AOPA did a great job especially getting the towns people involved. Aviation needs good publicity.

Default Departing San Marcos

Lone Star Squadron, 3 ship formation, departing at 1400 hours. The B-17 had just finished flying, and we followed a Beech Starship on takeoff.

*sigh*

400 OVC kept us on the ground in Port Aransas. We even paste-waxed Amelia in prep for the show....

But it's not all bad. We drove to San Antonio for Fiesta! instead.

Great picture Carl!

You can see the Osprey's in the background, the EAA?s B-17, and all the parking. If only I had caught to Honcho!

Did you get any pictures of the Beech Starship we followed out?
