Default RV-6 down in OZ.

I saw this on a news and ATSB site and thought it may be of interest to the general RV community. It seems it occurred in March but I only just found out about it. I have no other details.

A post in PPrune reported the pilot as doing low-level aeros at the time and this seems to be supported by a witness statement "made a mistake and it hit the ground"...Video on YouTube shows it impacted around 300-500m off the end of the runway, into a 10' high embankment.

Rego was VH-ZMH. Pilot was John Stortelder.

Safe for work, and doesn't show the actual crash, but...

CAUTION: Not for the faint hearted.

Interesting to note the aircraft, VH-ZMH, is registered to Martin Hone - IIRC, he is/was highish up in the SAAA at some point - who is also the one who reckons a mistake was made that caused the aircraft to hit the ground.
