Default Battery Powered cockpit lights?

All,

I am a few days away from inspection and my Technical Counselor recommended I had cockpit lighting for my backup instruments. I really do not want to run a bunch of wire right now, any have any good battery powered options that I can clip to the glare shield or mount in my overhead console?

thanks,

You could keep a pack of these in the plane and use as needed or as necessary I guess. http://www.amazon.com/Fulcrum-30010-.../dp/B000R7PM36

I use one of these battery powered LED lights and at $19.99 a pair they are a great buy. They swivel and pivot like airline reading lights so you can point the beam where you need it. I use Lithium batteries (3 AAA) and change them as part of my Conditional Inspection so they don't run out of power.

A headlamp is a reasonable approach. Nowadays they have small batteries and LEDs.

I really can't believe Mike S. hasn't been to this thread to wish braddsmith111 a welcome to the site. This is a rare exception.

We have a full length strip light that's puts out a nice light green illumination of the panel under the glare shield. It's powered off ships power normally but if that fails uses a standard 9 volt battery. I don't however know who made it. I will see if I can find anything next time I visit the plane.

I have those glow strips with battery backup and they are impressive without over powering.
