Default Alodine Question

I'm a rookie RV-10 builder and intend on alodining all interior parts for corrosion protection. Is just the alodine process sufficient for corrosion protection or do I end to prime afterward?

I will start this post by saying there are as many opinions on this subject as there are builders...

Alodine is an excellent corrosion protection surface treatment. It's main weakness is that it is very thin and easily damaged by scratching, abrasion, etc. In applications where the surface is not susceptible to any sort of wear, and the environment is not too hostile, Alodine is acceptable as is. In cases where the Alodine may be compromised, a corrosion resistant coating is recommended. Given your Florida address I would be inclined to Alodine and prime.

What type of primer do you suggest?

Look for 'Primers' in The Never Ending Debate Section of the forum.
Lots of opinions there.

Considering your address...if I were in your shoes I would alodine and then prime with a two part epoxy. Being I am from the North Country, I am just cleaning with acetone and priming with NAPA acid etching primer from a rattle can.

Only other data point is I would alodine all the parts prior to assembly. Almost impossible to flush the alodine solution off the interior otherwise. The various mil specs that address the process call for this IIRC.
