Default TIP: Pinch Welt Source and P/N

After flying for over a year with a butt ugly glare shield and trim, I finally put something there that looks halfway decent. In the process I also found a source for pinch welt.

I'm a VW guy as well and a few months ago I was picking up some parts for my 1973 VW Thing. While I was there, I picked up some VW pinch welt which works perfectly on our RV glare shields.

I picked this up when I was down in Southern California at SoCal Imports.

http://www.socalautoparts.com/produc...-black-p-14894

It was $20 which is probably enough for 3 RVs.

The VW Part Number is 113847131BBK. This is carried by other VW parts suppliers as well. Just cut the length you need. I used a Dremel and a cutting wheel.

You're welcome.

Thanks for the info. Did you cover the rest of the glare shield with felt or something?

Default Pinch welt

Very nice. I'll remember that one. Thanks
I too am a VW fan but don't currently own one. I restored a bug once from the frame up. The UPS guy got really interested. He even delivered the engine in several boxes. I would love to do another someday. My dream restoration is a Porche 356c but they are impossible to find.
