Aircraft Marking Stencils

What services have people used to make paint templates for various aircraft markings? Specifically I am thinking of instructions for the operation of the door handle on the RV10 for the exterior. I was considering a stencil so it could be painted and then cleared. Alternatively a vinyl graphic that could be clear coated would work as well.

Are there any of these already made up or is it all custom work?

For my door handles, I made a rough sketch of what I wanted to size and took it to a local vinyl sign maker. He replicated what I wanted in CAD, showed me for approval and made them up while I waited.
