Default Safety Wire or these safety tabs?

So I could drain the carb with the drain plug during my 1st annual on the RV4 that I bought. I've had to remove the 2 bolts that hold the plate that mounts to the bottom of the carburetor that the air box mounts to. To secure these bolts they have the tabs that bend over the head of the bolt by maybe an 1/8'' of an inch. These I see as being barely adequate at best and with my eyes that are for ever changing it is difficult for me to even see these things and ensure they are bent correctly. As well not having a spare stash on hand so I'm not reusing them is another problem.

Is there any reason why I can't install bolts with the holes in the head and safety wire these and forget the safety tabs?

Thanks

Tim

The tabs are ok but I prefer safety wired bolts.

Ignore the orange RTV (i removed it and sealed it with a small bead of proseal on top of the FAB plate), my 7 plans called for safety wire.

The tabs are OK for 1 time use. They are not designed to be reused.
