Default Paint on starter ring?

My starter ring / flywheel had a small amount of corrosion where it met the prop flange. After cleaning it I put a light coat of prime and paint on it and then thought that maybe wasn't a good idea.

While I can't find anything that says not to do it... I assume that it could potentially cause the prop bolts to loosen. Can anyone confirm that this is a no-no?
