Default Removable smartphone holder, and charger

Not an major item, I know, but isn't it nice to buy the right gizmo the first time?

I wanted a removable smartphone holder for a vehicle. Perusing Amazon, I found this one: http://amzn.com/B008ALV0V4
Here's what I like about it:
  • Not specific to any phone, so it will work with iPhone, Android, with or without case
  • Attaches very securely via vacuum base or adhesive
  • Not expensive
  • Attaches to a variety of surfaces at different angles, even ones you might think a vacuum wouldn't work
I tried it in an Aircoupe I fly while building the RV-9A. The Coupe is not a smooth flyer, there's definitely some vibration in the cockpit, but this held my iPhone perfectly well for about 1.5 hours of flight and two landings.

Finally if you want a good cigarette lighter charger I like this one http://amzn.com/B00B8M4IMK, which will charge both an iPad and cell phone simultaneously (if your cigarette lighter will supply the amps). Amazon Basics has good quality USB<->30 pin or Lightning cables for less than Apple's prices.

Default Onboard charger

Another charging option below that replaces the plug and the socket with just one unit

Thanks for the timely heads-up guys. I just purchased a GDL 39 & Nexus 7. Am planning new cigarette lighter plugs so this helps me out. Thank you!
