Default RV builder featured in Washington Post

John Clark, RV-9A, flying, is featured prominently in an article in the Washington Post on Saturday 9/9/2006:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...090801638.html

For once, an article that contains few if any inaccuracies!

Well done, Mr. Clark!

Great article. Always nice to see a reasonable, factual piece like that.

I especially liked the quote from the guy who said he wanted to own 18 airplanes... I had to send that along to my wife, along with a note saying "see, it's not just me!"

Default Good checklist addition

That was also an interesting note at the end about finding puddles of oil in the run up area when investigating engine failures on take off. Taking a look at the area where you did your run up to make sure nothing leaked out before you pour on the coals seems like a good idea.

I have a friend who is getting his rotary wing liscense. He said that is one of their pre-flight items....but they look for bolts and parts too.

Thanks for the note Martin. The Post aviation reporter recently transferred from the metro beat and had a total of 4 hours when we flew to W.VA for lunch. He works hard on the accuracy of his stories and has been doing very well on his aviation reporting. Regards, John.
