Default Day after Christmas trip to 4V1

Today dawned clear and warm in the mountain west. Time to take the 7a on a short hop from KFLY to 4V1, Walsenburg CO.

No weather issues, and the Rockies look great as always.

The runway is in great shape, all by itself out just east of La Veta pass.

The have a nice terminal, but no one is there. How do we make the 5 miles into town (and lunch)?

Not to worry, foreflight gives us a phone number, and we talk with the manager who is home with his family. They do have a crew car, and the keys are under the drivers side floor mat.

While we eat breakfast at the Alpine Rose Cafe in Walsenburg, N92Bf waits patiently to take us home, and ready for the next adventure.

Thanks for posting some great pictures of a beautiful part of the country Geoff. BTW did you take the time to wash that courtesy car? As good as your plane looks, I'm sure it pained you to drive around in that thing!

Geoff,
Fly into Glenwood Springs sometime and I will take you to lunch just to see your paint job. It looks nice in the picture! Have fun out there!

Chuck - that is how every car looks out here! haha!

Nice Pictures! As hard as we try there is nothing like seeing the beauty of this place in person.

For all you people "on the fence," Colorado is still allowing people to become new residents.
