First time builder question

RV-14 tail started today. When the plans say to cleco skin to assembly and final drill..........do you cleco every hole and drill one at a time, or every other hole, or every third hole?

Santa was good to me this year.

Hi Barney,

I put a cleco in every second hole, then drill all the open holes, then move the clecos into the hole you just drilled and final drill the remaining holes before disassembly for deburing, dimpling and priming etc.

Fitting good. Just using a reamer on the punched holes.

I cleco'ed every other hole when the sheet was flat.
I cleco'ed all the holes (pull and drill out one at a time) when the sheet was bent or otherwise stressed.

In other words, I tried to use some judgement.

If you have enough fasteners cleco every hole. Easier to work.
