Default Dynon Autopilot Servo Rotation Limiting Bracket Issue

There's a thread in a Dynon Avionics forum regarding a trim problem caused by installing the Dynon-supplied rotation limiting bracket on the autopilot servo.

At least in my RV-8A, servo rotation is limited by the hard stops in the flight control system long before the rotation limiting bracket would come into play.

Maybe I'm missing something but why even install it in an RV? If you have done so, can you give me a rational reason why you installed it?

Thanks,
Joe

Not that Murphy would ever get involved, but in the highly remote chance that the mechanical stops failed, it would HELP to keep the mechanism to go over center and lock a control? Just my thoughts, not an expert here.

My installation was the same- no way the servo can come close to over center. But... it made me feel better.

Joe, I left a bracket off too. There's no way it can overcenter without something catastrophically happening and then that will be the least of my worries.

I did not install either. My aileron stop is non-stock, Delrin rod on aileron hinge bolt. My thought is this bolt will have to be gone for the stop not to function.

Cheers

Thank you, Bruce and Mike. As I said, I was afraid I was missing something, but no: installing the bracket does no good and can possibly cause issues according to the manufacturer. Appreciate your confirmations.
