Default 2 pc vs 4 PC nose bearing

I'm trying to find some documentation on when to convert from the 4 PC nose bearing to the 2 PC.

Does anyone know a lycoming document that spells it out or can tell me when to change?

Don't have a document for you but I always will change the 4 piece to a 2 piece big bearing. Divco advises when taking a 320 from 150 to 160 hp, might give them a quick call in the morning and see if they can lead you to a document. Oklahoma time.

If you do find out it's possible to do, could you post it? I just got my case halves back from Divco and if no machining is required, I'd be interested.

Thanks,

I'm sure it needs machining. ECI charges $137 and calls it a modification...

Gil is correct, it will take machining. IMHO, worth every penny.
