Default Painting piano hinge

I know this should go in the Paint topics in the basement but I don't think we get much traffic down there.

Doing the DIY paint job. Not sure how to paint the piano hinges without pluging up the eyelets.

I didn't do anything with mine. I also didn't hose them down with paint.

IF you're plugging the eyes you're putting it on to heavy.

light with a small airbrush if you're going to paint them at all.

So would you mask them and come back to dust them with an airbrush?

I'm doing B/C so there will be some build.

if you are really worried about plugging them up, use a junk rod to fill the holes while you paint. just remove it between coats so it doesnt dry up and get stuck

I run a length of .040 safety wire through the eyelets and then remove when the paint is dry.

That sounds reasonable. Maybe a undersize length of piano wire?.

I was hoping for more experiences responding. I might be making too big a deal about it. Hoping to not reinvent the wheel so to speak.

I covered the eyelets with blue tape. They aren't visible when the cowl is installed. I would hate to get paint in those holes!

The minimum number of planes one should own is one. The correct number is n+1, where n is the number of planes currently owned. This equation may also be re-written as s-1, where s is the number of planes owned that would result in separation from your partner.

I'm not to the cowl yet. I'm concerned about flap and trim hinge.
