Default Flying in Canada

For the most part, we US pilots of US aircraft can overfly Canada without studying the CAR's. However, here are some gotcha's (which would matter if you landed in Canada):

From section 605.01(1) and as follows..
1. Magnetic direction indicator must operate independently of the electrical generating system. EFIS battery backup not mentioned.
2. VFR Over The Top requires pitot heat. So does IFR.
3. IFR requires a backup nav radio (does not mention GPS) sufficient for the approach and the missed procedure.
4. IFR requires alternate static source.

There are many more regulations, but these would be issues for me and thus for some of you VAF readers, too. FYIO.
