Used one of these on a custom made ACS throttle cable and it works perfectly. Actually forgot it was on there until this post.

The groove in the cable is 1/8" so I cut the slot in a chunk of 1/8" bar stock with a couple safety wire holes to keep the cable in place. Bolt the bar stock piece to the rest of the support. Done.
