Default Throttle friction lock doesn't really lock

Hallo.
I noticed that when I set 23 MAP power tends to go down after a while.
I tried to lock the friction, but it was alreday all locked.
So, when on the ground, I tried to feel the friction lock effectiveness and found that when full locked, the cable could be easily pushed and pulled.
I tried to unscrew the friction and found that a plastic ball is sandwiched between the friction and the throttle cable body. Maybe this ball is someway defective.
How can I do to make my friction lock become more effective?
Cable has less than 3 years. Airplane has 190 hours TT.
Thanks.
Camillo
