Default Oil filter diameter
Based on my research on VAF I bought the KN HP-1002 oil filter.

The diameter is smaller the my current filter installed. Is this going to not matter based on the mounting adapter set on the engine?

Before I pull the current filter off (this would allow me to check) I don't want to have my plane down waiting for a correct filter to be mailed if that becomes an issue.

Its the sealing gasket dimensions that are important, not the size of the filter can.

Thanks for the response.

I understand the can size not being an issue. I think I asked the question poorly.

Is the gasket diameter the same on both these filters? I'm not at the hangar or I'd just grab another used filter and compare.
