Default Airport advice- Jax and Ft. Lauderdale

My wife and I are flying to Florida from Virginia to check out the area and visit my sister in Ft Lauderdale. I'm looking for advice on which airport is the most RV friendly in the two areas. If you live in or frequent these, which do you think are the places to tie down for a couple of days? I plan on renting a car in Jax. Which do you think have the best combination of facilities, user fees (or lack thereof) and fuel prices?

thanks for the help!

Default Craig Field

I am hangared at Craig. There a a few RVs here. Sky Harbor is a decent choice and has Hertz on site. When are you coming? Fuel prices here are higher than a cat's back. I generally fly to Palatka (Kay Larkin) when I need to fill up.

Default Stayed at Jacksonville - Craig, March 2013

I overnighted at Craig in March/Spring Break.

Here's my thread asking for advice and describing my experience.

My preferred fuel stop was Palatka, 28J.

I strongly recommend a flyby of the Shuttle Landing Strip at Kennedy Space Center. Stay along I-95 and call TTS, "NASA Tower", to get flyby permission and instructions.
