tip up open canopy lock

I've tried doing a search and maybe I'm search impaired but I haven't found a way of locking the tip up canopy in the open position (handle tab resting on the top of the roll structure) when parked on a very hot day.

Solutions don't necessarily require that configuration, just ventilation and locking for security/theft deterrent when parked...anyone got a solution that they use and like?

This modification will allow the canopy to be slightly open and in the locked position.
Photos should be rotated 90 degrees.

Add an additional pin position on the latch post, a slight arc will be required to prevent interference when the post passed thru the square hole.

Cut a radius on the latch to provide clearance for the second pin when in the closed position.
