Default Old airplane identification (not RV)

I once some pictures of an old (40's or 50's?) plane that had an odd wing. The wing wrapped half way around the prop on the bottom side to create a sort of half ducted fan concept. The plane supposedly had excellent stol performance because of the added lift of the wing around the prop even at low speeds.

Does anyone know what plane I am talking about? What is its name?

Thanks.

Jon

It was called a "channel wing". Can't remember the guys name, but there was an article in one of the aviation publications not too long ago. The airplane did indeed have excellent STOL performance.
Custer, yeah, that's it, that's the name. That's what I was going to say.
