Default Airworthiness certificate procedures

OK RV'ers. I'm building the RV-8 tail feathers and considering the rest of the ship. I've searched the site and can't find the procedures for FAA airworthiness.

Does the DAR only get brought in at the end of the project? Should someone inspect control surfaces before closing?

Common sense tells me there should be a second set of eyeballs on this but I don't need big brother for that.

Something tells me the empenage is the easy part.......

DAR or FSDO inspector only when you are done. But they like to see photos of the build, take lots, with you in some of them.

Yes, good idea to get others to look it over.

Default EAA Tech counselor

Use an EAA Tech counselor. Go to your nearest EAA chapter and ask if they have one. Of course if they have RV experience even better. Once they evaluate your build they'll give a report letter of their findings. They're a great source to utilize.

Default EAA for sure

Blain, click the link in my signature for the local EAA chapter.

Also, I am more than willing to furnish those extra eyes if you want.

Nice shop you have there, expected to see a diesel or two in the back, not a couple of sports cars.
