Default Southwestern Pennsylvania

Actually the subject would be any where in the Tri-State Area and Ohio. PA, WV, MD, OH not far from Pittsburgh.

Recently family events may accelerate my retirement. Would like to get a feeling on the availability of hangars, hangar sizes, and prices in the subject area with contact info. Would prefer an airport with an IFR GPS approach.

I presently have an apx 30 X 40 box hangar and would prefer not to down size.

Once a hangar is found, the next job will be to locate a residence near by.

I will be at VVS several days before heading to Oshkosh AirVenture 2013.

Gary, We have a pretty active group here in SWPA. Best RV airport rat contact at our local airport is Bill "Popeye" Flaherty " at KFWQ (only a few miles from KVVS and meets your criteria).

Also Rick Gray down in northern WVA. Rick is active here on the list as RV6Rick and at his site http://www.rvrick.com/

Both are available here

Good luck

Gary:

Already in contact with Bill. I have his email and phone number. I also know and have Rick Gray's email and phone number. I should call Rick and talk to him soon. I also know Tom Emery but lost contact info for him. In addition, I have meet Gary Jasper years ago. I have parked the airplane at both FWQ and VVS when I have visited by RV over the past 16-years.

BTW, I learned to fly at VVS back when it was 2G3. That was over 30-years ago. Yes I am dating myself. Will have been in "The Peoples Socialist Republic of Kalifornia" 30-years come October.

Default Tom Emery

Gary,

Tom retired and moved to Florida a couple of years ago. You might be able to contact him through the info at his website, which is still up: http://www.wparvbuilders.nstemp.com/

He is a good guy, and helped me build my RV-8 empennage.

Good luck with the move. I'm down at KGAI in Maryland, and hangar prices are out of this world down here near Washington, DC.

The two email I have for Tom bounce. I have PA phone numbers but since they moved two years ago, I doubt they are still valid.

Man is not complete till he is married and then he is finished.

They say that marriage is a wonderful institution but I do not want to live in an institution.

Default Rostraver - FWQ

I grew up south of Pittsburgh and still visit the area a couple times a year. Fly into FWQ.

Can't say enough about the folks at Rostraver Airport. Really into aviation - and will go out of their way to provide support.

In addition to Popeye, Dennis Tolkach, Bill Bietler, and Danny Blackwell (Blackwell Aviation - T-34 experts) may be able to provide info. Email me if you need phone numbers.

Right there with you buddy...I have no desire to be "institutionalized" either.
