Exercise extreme caution it's a busy place on weekends. Pattern altitude is lower then standard and there are few spots to deadstick in case of emergency. Fuel depots around, lots of local helicopter traffic. Couple days ago a Diamond went down cause unknown. Just be careful if first time. Come IFR if you can.

It is no problem. The easiest approach is from the West or South - where are you comming from? You have to spend a little while with a VFR chart to figgure out the Class B altitudes, but again, no problem. The Newark approch is right off of the down-wind leg, so you may be looking right at a heavy in the pattern... pretty cool. If comming up from the South you have to make sure to stay away from wing tip vorticies of the trafic up above. If comming from the North, fly down the NY VFR corridor. That is a great trip! Linden is in the middle of a tank farm. The only cooler approach I ever flew was when Bader field use to be in Atlantic City and you flew between the Casinos to land.

Linden is what I use when going to NYC. I have been there several times and feel comfortable flying into. Pattern is 800', runway 9 enter up wind. Watch for helicopters and other traffic.

Base on Runway 27

Following you may find a few more pictures (#7 to #13) of flying Linden pattern.

Default Welcome to my hometown!!! A destination in Itself

Linden is a great place, head downtown and enjoy our Polish food.

For the total Linden,NJ effect hit Big Stash's, every cab driver knows it...

Thanks for all the info. I'll keep Big Stash's in mind. Judging by the comments on AirNav about the FBO, it's not going to be cheap, but I like the location. One question on rental cars - If I arrive on a weekday in early afternoon, how long before Enterprise shows up? I see that cabs are possible, but I don't think a cab ride to EWR for a rental car is a good idea....
Would you say that an advance reservation with Enterprise is necessary?

I only rented once a few years ago and the Enterprise car was there at FBO. Call FBO and ask if Enterprise still delivers. If not, they can tell what other options you may have.
