Wedge or bayonet base better?
So let's assume for a moment that I wanted to install a couple of automotive style lamps in the wingtips of an RV. The lamps are available in either 1156 style bayonet base, or 3156 style wedge base. Which would you prefer, and why?
I feel the bayonet base would be less likely to shake loose over time. However, a couple decades of wedge base lamps in automotive applications seem to indicate that those bulbs are retained just fine, even in pretty severe conditions.
