Cowl hing question

Has anyone used the standard ms20257 hinges on the cowl where plans call for 1/8 hinge? Looking at the vertical and bottom, it seems doable. Any thoughts would be appreciated and considered I have extra in the p4 width. Thank you

Inam building a 9 with the new nose gear. That mod has screws on the vottom and hinges on sides and top. That is my plan too.

On the aft bottom sides (vertical hinges on lower cowl) I used heavy extruded hinges vs rolled soft alum. Not sure what newer kits supply stock (don't have my drawings handy). I recall the original hinge wore out in less than 1000 hours. The lower side takes a lot of load. Part numbers I don't recall with out research but it is a much larger pin than the Horz sides between top and bottom cowl haves.
