Rv4 rudder cables

In this condition inspection I noticed some wear on the starboard rudder cable of my rv4; eventually it will need replacing. Approx 3 strands are broken. The very slight interference has been resolved. Have any of you replaced rudder cables in a mature rv4? Did you replace with the factory cables or swage new ones in place? Thanks for any thoughts on this.

You should be able to replace the entire cable. As long as you have access to all of the bulkheads that it passes through. While you are at it check the snap bushings for wear and replace at the same time. As far as swaging your own cables, I would go with factory cables for safety reasons.
