What size bolt is used to ground an aft mounted battery to the longeron?

I used an....

AN3 I can't remember where I found this but, I did..... somewhere.....

Installed an AN5 as that came in the option kit I got from Vans, so the prebuilt cable fit. That said, the Odyssey battery terminal is an M6 so mine is probably overkill.

Here is a shot of mine. It is an AN4 bolt (1/4" diameter).

This entire connection should be coated with DE-OX before installation. This IS the outpath of the current.

AC43.13-1B recommends to correct washer materials to use at the ground to air frame attachment point to minimize dissimilar metal corrosion:

For aluminum washers, visit the pop rivet section of your local hardware store. They have aluminum washers for aluminum pop rivets.

Aircraft Spruce sells AN960 aluminum washers in standard aircraft sizes. They are pretty inexpensive.
