ADS-B Install

I have a friend who purchased a Garmin GDL 82 ADS-B and GPS antenna for his RV6. He is looking for install location ideas. He's not too excited about accessing the avionics bay from down under at his age.

ADS-B aft of baggage bay bulkhead

I have the same setup and installed mine just aft of the baggage bay bulkhead on the left side when viewing rearward. I fabricated an aluminum tray, secured it to the stringers, and mounted the GDL 82 on it. I also piggy-backed my GDL 50R on top of the GDL 82. Routed wires/cables through the bulkhead former, then sub-floor forward. Everything is accessible come inspection time when I open up the tailcone.

I have the EchoUAT, different box, but I put it in the wing access panel.

My hangar partner has a RV6 tip-up. He mounted his GDL-82 under the RH seat on a bracket mounted between 2 floor ribs. He mounted the antenna on a plate under the plexiglass above the baggage compartment.
