EAA 309 and 961 are both active chapters. They are worth visiting and joining. I'm building an 8 near Matthews and happy to discuss.

14A in Simpsonville, SC

My 14A is now at the 90% finished and 50% to go stage.

About 1:45 hour drive from Charlotte.
 
What model?

What model you are interested in may make a difference of who you need to find in the area. Several builders/owners at my home field a little over an hour from CLT.
 
Not much for experience here, but I just took delivery of an -8 tail in Waxhaw/Weddington area so maybe we can learn some together. Just joined 961 in Rock Hill and they seem like an awesome group.
 
309 is having a Young Eagles event on Saturday morning at the Monroe Airport Terminal.

Why don't y'all head over and introduce yourselves.
