Default Tiny hole in AN swivel adapter

I tried to figure it out myself...
What is the purpose of this tiny hole in this swivel adapter? (See picture)
Thank you.

There is a pin/dimple in there that keeps the nut on the inner shank.

Mike, is there supposed to be swiveling action *after* the nut is tighten, or is the swiveling action only intended to align things properly before tightening?

Should swivel before tightening, but not after.

If you're talking about a Heim joint ( the pic link doesn't work ) it's witness hole. It's so you can see the threads minimum depth.
