Has anyone recently landed an RV at the Chicken Strip, in Saline Valley. The last time I was there was in my RV4 about 5 years ago. Just wanted know the conditions. Steve "The Builders Coach"

YIPES!! First clip looks pretty rutted.... and a tip over waiting to happen!

I've been to the hot springs there.... (drove in), VERY cool place, but just so you know, lots of butt naked people!
F-18's were buzzing the valley.... gave us quite a "show".

The "nudist colony" in Saline Valley is well-known to all the military aviators at Edwards AFB, NAS Lemoore and China Lake...during my days on a B-52 crew at Edwards, we occasionally went low-level up Saline Valley. Every IR and optical sensor on the airplane was aimed right at the hot springs! Never did see anything, though. :mad:

I was in the pool one morning when an attack helicopter snuck down the valley and passed overhead at 50 feet. We were not aware of them until an extremely loud noise jolted us out of lethargy. They only got to see a bunch of aging males.
 
Was there Jan. 2010

in a Bonanza and Piper Arrow. The strip was in good condition. It is a great place to visit. Will go back again.
