Micro/mini multi-pin connectors

I'm looking a multi-pin connector for my stick. I have an Infinity grip and is currently wired without a connector. My guess is there are 8 - 12 wires. A couple of 4 or 6 pin connectors would be great so I can pull the stick off the co-pilot side so I can work under the panel easier. Obviously the connector would have to be able to slip through the control column tube where the stick attaches to. I could use d-sub pins and heat shrink each pin connection but it would be a pain to cut the heat shrink off each time I have to remove the stick and then re-heat shrink the pins again. If I use a spade connectors I would have to stagger the connector in order to slip through the control column.

Or do I drill a hole in the stick above the bolt and run the wire out and just use a sub-d connector?

Thanks for your input and ideas

My control stick carries 14 wires via 2 8 pin Harwin line connectors. They are available from RS and are a specialist item.
Another option is to use Molex 0.1" pitch plugs connecting onto a PCB header. The PCB header would need to be mounted under the panel somewhere and two female plugs should be able to fit through the stick.
Both the above connectors are crimp type.

This technique is commonly used on some helicopters. One would want to ensure the hole is fully stress-relieved.

I've had very good success using round DIN connectors with gold-plated contacts. They are small enough to fit through the stick mounting boss on my aircraft (NOT an RV).

A photo of a similar connector is shown here.

Infinity Stick Connections on CoPilot Side

Being able to easily remove the right stick, yet have full functionality of the Infinity stick grip controls is a big plus.
Sooner or later you'll need to crawl under your RV-6/7/14 panel....and having the removeable stick out of the way is a big plus.
Here are some photos of how I wired it using a standard 15-pin DB connector.
