Aeroleds Suntail incorrect installation instructions

Hello all,
I've tried to figure out the proper way to install the Suntail by Aeroleds
came across a few contradicting documents, so I emailed Aeroleds, which responded immediately (Great support!)

It seems like most of the instructions on the web are incorrect! Even Op-56.pdf by Vans AND the instructions on Aeroleds website are incorrect

It is not advisable to ground the light locally at the light. It is highly recommended to take the ground through the shield and ground at the main bus.

Attached is the proper way

Hi Oren,

Yes we apologize for this problem. With the recent relaunch of our website we are still working on updating all the documents online. We appreciate your posting these for fellow RVers. :)

Happy flying,

Aeroleds Suntail

It should not affect the wingtips lights.
The problem with the taillight is that if you ground it locally then the return current has to find a path back. The only available one is through the greased rod end bearings that hold the rudder in place.

Would it also not be able to find its way back through control cables?

Edit: Now that I think more about it I guess that the control cables are pretty much isolated from the airframe by the Delrin blocks.
