Wing tip lighting harness confusion

Preparing to install wiring in my QB wings. I have the WH-00011 wing tip lighting harnesses and I'm curious about one thing. The C400P connector has a short wire on pin 6 that goes to ground on the root rib (see page 19-02, figure 1 and detail A). That wouldn't be grounding anything in the wing but something from the fuselage. Can someone explain?

Wing grounding

It’s been a few years but I think this was to insure the wing was well grounded to the fuselage since there are many ground points of instruments in the wing that are locally grounded. I preferred to add wiring from these instruments back to the panel or at least add wiring to go back to a fuselage ground. I know many that built to Vans wiring and had no issues. The Garmin regulated pitot tube can come back to bite you. (Headset noise issues) That one has been an issue for many builders. I used the unregulated and has worked out well.
