RV-8 upper leg fairings for grove gear

Looking for recommendations for Grove gear on an RV-8.

Just make some.

Every RV should have a few "I made it myself" parts. It's what makes it yours.

Yep, what Dan and Carl said.
I tried, it was a mess.
I bought some from Steve here.
If he still makes them, when ordering, mention that it's for Grove Airfoiled gear.
I had close to no trimming/fitting to do.
I ordered both the upper and lower sets.

I’m going to wimp out on the upper fairings. The amount of time I would take would be better spent on something else……..like a plenum.

I used the top cowl for the form and here is the roof of the plenum.

Does that count?

It all counts brother.

A long time ago I was a roadracer. The consensus in the pits was true enough...the guy who finished last was usually better than 90% of the street guys who thought they were fast.

Same for folks who build their own airplanes. You're rare...and better.

Couldn't agree more. Glareshield edge protection made of walnut wood and interior side panels.

Same here - I gave up after 2 attempts - these upper fairings from Steve were almost perfect.
