Broken master cylinder hinge

I'm New Here
My RV-8 has inflight adjustable rudder pedals.

Yesterday when I landed at a neighboring airfield I noticed that my left brake was feeling softer. It felt like it would occasionally give some braking action but otherwise it was almost entirely flat.

Decided to wait for calmer winds, and flew back home after a brief inspection. Did a 3-point landing and applied no brakes until I bled almost all of my speed. At this point I was still thinking that maybe there is a leak on the left brake fluid container and I can top-up some fluid and check the lines to be extra sure.

However, upon closer inspection I realized that the brakes were all fine, but the master cylinder's hinge on the left rudder pedal was broken off. The broken hinge is highlighted with a black rectangle in this image: https://imgur.com/AsbIFIf, and this is what it looks like in my plane right now: https://imgur.com/Gclg1O7

The good news is that rudders are perfectly functional, the bad news is that the master cylinder on the left does not have a support attached to the rudder base anymore, and therefor dangles freely.

What would be the recommended action of fixing this? I don't have the inflight adjustable rudder pedals' plans at hand, can anyone tell me what is the specific part number for that part?

I'd disassemble and take it to a local welding shop, if you don't have a friend who's good at welding.

I agree that getting it welded local will be the fastest fix.

DWG 33 makes me think the part is WD-816. I would need to go to my hangar and actually find the part to make sure.

Hope this helps.

Thaks a lot guys! It indeed is WD-816. I think I will get it welded locally, and I will order the part from Vans just in case.
