LIDAR and 3D Scanning Apps

I'm playing around with an app called 'Polycam' on my smartphone (many models use LIDAR). Lots of apps. Downloaded it to scan the living room to render different fake wood floors over our 30 yr old carpet, but played with it at the airport today.

Worked up a quick and dirty scan of both my RV-6 cockpit and of Rob's RV-8 engine today just for grins. Looking at the cockpit scan later I see one of the two pax headphone jacks on the side fuselage fell out. Impressive tech for not reading the instructions and playing with it for 90 seconds.

Didn't buy anything yet on the app, just playing for now. Recorded two short videos below spinning the processed scans around. Total nerd love.
Pro tip: If you scan your living room and your wife is sitting on the couch, it will creep her out.
