Dimensioned Side View

Does anyone have a dimensioned/scale/CAD side view of the fuselage that is better than the one on the VANS website? I am looking to get some vinyl graphics done - yep, getting that close........ :)

This isn't exactly DIY (not sure if that was what you are aiming for), but Scheme Designers could help. They've designed my future paint scheme for the RV-10 and delivered the instructions so a paint shop can create it. At the time they delivered, I also had the option for custom-cut masks or vinyl markings. A tad expensive, though well worth it for what I wanted. Again, not sure what the scope of what you're looking for. I am sure that a paint shop might also be able to help you in a cost-effective manner if you are not looking for something elaborate.

I'm planning to paint plain whiite to keep things easy/cheap and so I can use a local sprayer rather than go to the expense of a specialist aircraft company. I then want a 3 colour ribbon-type stripe down the fuselage (a la Cirrus) - in fact I'm looking at pretty much stealing the design from N45678........

So, I have a vinyl graphics company looking at it but I wanted a CAD-style side view for them to work with. Not critical, but would help.

I made one for the RV-7. You can import an image into Autocad. Then draw a line that represents the total length of the airplane. Then scale the image up or down until it matches then line. I bet it is +/- a couple of inches. You could then trace the image with autocad lines, then delete the image. After that you have an autocad file drawing of the plane to scale. Then you can dimension it as neccessary. If you have someone that knows Autocad, it takes about an hour or two.

I managed to download the 3-view file from the Mother Ship and extract the RV-10 side view. The graphics man is working with that and already coming up with some great looking designs. And my interior has arrived from Abby :D All I need now is some time off to work on the thing........
