Stick Column lenght

I'm currenly working on this stuff. The stick columns delivered in my RV-7 kit is way to long (both sides). Any ideas how can i figure out the right lenght?

Rule of thumb is, trim so it has full travel in every direction without touching anything... That,s all I did.

I did make sure the sticks (and my thumb) cleared the panel and the center throttle/mixture bracket. However, after installing the throttle and mixture cables, I had to remove another inch from the pilot-side throttle. I'm very satisfied with the results.
