G3X splash screen logo

I thought I saw a recent post about this, but my search has turned up empty..

Apparently, the G3X Touch allows you to add a custom splash screen, per the Installation Manual (rev March 2021, Section 34.8, page 668)

Users can create a custom splash screen (displayed during power up) by storing a bitmap file on the root
directory of the SD card which is inserted into the SD card slot. This function is not available on a single
display system. File details are as follows:
• File must be named logo.bmp
• Must be uncompressed Windows bitmap, 8 bpp or 24 bpp with no alpha mask
• Max size 480 x 480 pixels
• Store file on root directory of an SD card, inserted in the MFD before power on

That seemed really easy.. However, I put this file at the root of the SD card (i.e. not inside any folder on the card), but the G3X doesn't seem to boot up any different. (This is in a RV-12iS with two 10" G3X Touch displays). Can someone put a second pair of eyes on this, or even try it in their own G3X? I'm doing something wrong here.

Ugh.. you are correct. That item was listed in the chapter for GDU 37X. Ok, no custom splash screen on the Touch.
