G3X pitch trim indicator

RV10Man

Well Known Member
I need to add the pitch trim indicator to my GDU 470 PFD. When in config mode, I have green checks in all the right boxes, except the "ptrim" box. While scrolling through all the RLUs and such, it skips over the ptrim box. It won't even let me "click" on it.

When searching the install manual for "adding ptrim" indicator, all that comes up is how it works.

I got my answer in the other thread I started........by mistake.

Pitch Trim Indicator

Well......the answer in the other thread didn't work.:). Still no pitch trim indicator on my PFD.

Good Morning,

Are you using a Ray Allen trim motor for pitch trim, if so, have you calibrated the position sensor? If the position sensor is calibrated, its possible the indicator is turned off. In normal mode, touch the HSI, and select More Options. Scroll to the bottom of that menu, there is a switch to toggle the trim indications on and off.

If you are looking at System Information in configuration mode, you should not have a box for PTRIM. You would only see a pitch trim servo in this specific menu if you were using a GSA 28 servo as a pitch trim motor, something pretty much exclusively done in certified GFC 500 installations. If that line item is present in configuration mode, select the LRU menu in configuration mode, and disable Pitch Trim.

Please feel free to email us at [email protected] if you would like. We can also be reached directly at 1-866-854-8433, M-F, 8:00AM - 5:00PM CT.

Thanks,

Justin

The trim position sensors are set up in the Engine & Airframe menu (Icon)

You will need to enable/calibrate the device that's connected to one or more of the discrete inputs to the GEA 24 or GSU 73.

See page 35-175, Section 35.4.32.16 of the installation manual.

You then will need to enable the trim display on PFD/MFD --

See page 76-77 of the G3X Pilot's Guide.
