11-03: Drilling Elevator horn

Stockmanreef

Well Known Member
the plans call for drilling the elevator horn using an E-Drill bushing. There are a number of problems with this process.

1. The E-bushing does not slide into the VA-146A flange bearing. I assume that it is supposed to slide in to the bearing.
2. The Zero Revision plans (4/15/13) call for a #17 drill bit, while the Revisions 2 (3/3/15) calls for the use of a #30 bit. This means that that I would need a different bushing.

In the end I don't care what bushing I use. I assume that I just need a bussing to snuggly fit into the flange bearing.

Anyone else have this issue.

E drill bushing

I sanded the bushing to get it into the bearing but the #30 drill bit doesn’t fit in the e drill bushing. Is one supposed to drill it in,? I would think the e drill bushing would just spin? Any suggestions?
