QB fuse build question

RV-10 QB FUSELAGE question

On page 29-6 step 6, it asks me to remove a portion of the flange for the baggage door seal, the parts in question have been final riveted from the QB factory, it looks pretty tough to cut while in place,
So the only option is to drill out, cut and re assemble...
the question, if I leave it as is, will it interfere with the door closing etc.

Even installed, it is easy to cut with a dremel or other rotary tool. Or, cut a slot and use a hacksaw blade through the slot to finish the cut.

Either way, make a rough cut right outside the line, then file to the line.

I just looked at mine (SB kit), and it looks like it might fit if you don't trim it (but it would be a tight fit). I don't see why you couldn't wait until you've built the door and do a test fit before deciding if you need to trim it.

I don't remember trimming mine and my baggage door fits fine. I can check to see if I did cut it.

I completely missed this step that I should have done on my QB fuselage. I’m looking at it right now and I have the full, uncut flange. My baggage door closes just fine. No problem at all with the full thing. Maybe you should build your baggage door and see if it will fit before cutting the flange.
