Brake Info

I'm New Here
Quick question - just installed the TS Flightlines/Aircraft Specialty brake lines (very nice products, btw) and am going to finish off the system. How much brake fluid will I need for the system: dual brakes in an RV-7? Also, does anyone have a part number for the Viton O-rings to do that upgrade? I have the stock Cleveland calipers.

Stu, I needed around one coffee cup of brake fluid (rv7 dual brakes). But overall it was 1/2 quart including the amount spilled on the hangar floor.

I shop at Van's when I can

It may not be convenient for you in BC, but shopping at Van's takes a lot of the guesswork out of which part you need. Spruce has dozens of cotter pins. Van's has 14, and the chart tells you what they fit.

They only have one brake caliper O ring, so that pretty much narrows it down. They stock the Viton O rings. https://shop.vansaircraft.com/cgi-bin/shop.cgi?ident=1604441231-156-75&browse=hardware&product=misc U-00015 Brake Caliper 1.228" 'O' Ring $1.60

They have Royco 782 synthetic fire resistant hydraulic fluid for the brakes. https://shop.vansaircraft.com/cgi-bin/shop.cgi?ident=1604441231-156-75&browse=am&product=b-fluid

Awesome, guys; thanks. I end up shopping in a few different places and yes, Van's is very helpful - unfortunately, I miss being able to pick up at my US post box these past 6 months...
Like the cup of coffee analogy, Kay, I'll try to keep the brake fluid off the floor! Nice memories of the Bodensee area - I spent 4 great years up the road at Baden-Soellingen in the early 90s,

Double check o-ring part #

To be safe double check the o-ring. They sell Matco brakes now (and have for a number of years) and you have the Cleveland. Not sure if they are interchangeable.
